Labuan – Travellers between Kuala Penyu junction and Bongawan to Benoni, Sabah, are raising safety concerns over the deteriorating condition of the road, drawing comparisons to the challenging old Telupid to Sandakan road.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chong Wei Lee, 45, expressed fears about the potential for accidents due to the road’s potholes and overall disrepair. Jeffrey Nina, 52, a frequent traveller on the route, echoed these concerns, urging the government to prioritize maintenance and repair of this vital transportation link. The road users are calling for immediate action to repair the road, emphasizing that safety should not be compromised while waiting for the completion of the Pan Borneo Highway project.
