The 2021 National Khmer Boxing Championship is happening from Feb. 14 to 18 at the Old Stadium here in Phnom Penh.
Addressing its opening on Feb. 14, H.E. Tem Meun, President of Khmer Boxing Federation (KBF), highlighted that the championship aimed to measure the capacity of boxers and select the best ones for the forthcoming SEA Games 2022 and 2023 in Vietnam and Cambodia respectively.
The KBF president called on technical officials, arbitrators and judges to pay high attention to their respective role, and to ensure professionalism, ethics and fairness.
He also encouraged participating athletes to work hard and respect the rule of the match.
According to Mr. Heng Sokhorn, KBF Secretary General, the event attracts the participation of 95 athletes from organisations, associations and sport clubs of the ministries, cities and provinces.
