MELAKA, The Melaka Green Technology Corporation (PTHM) will organise the 2024 Melaka Green Awards on Sept 27, its chief executive officer, Mohd Hafizam Mustaffa said.

He added that the biennial awards, that began in 2015, is opened to government agencies, local authorities, government-linked companies, hotels, multinational corporations, small and medium industries, institutions of higher education, the state assembly’s development and coordination committee’s office, village development and security committees and non-governmental organisations.

Four categories of awards will be up for grabs in the awards’ seventh edition, including Green Practices, Green Projects, Green Innovations, Green Communities, with three awards – Gold, Silver and Bronze – for each category, as well as the Excellence Award and Most Valuable Partner Award.

“Entries are open and the closing date is June 10, with an entry fee of RM650 per category.

“So far, we have received 20 entries from various parties, and are targetting over 4
0 entries by the closing date,’ he said at a media conference here today, adding that winners will receive certificates, trophies and total cash prizes of RM30,000.

Mohd Hafizam said the awards were organised to acknowledge government and private agencies and communities that conduct sustainable green technology practices that protect the environment and served as a platform to boost awareness about the importance of a sustainable environment and to promote green technology.
