Cambodia, Trkiye Promote Cooperation on Media and Communication Sector

The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of Trkiye have agreed to promote their bilateral cooperation on media, communication, and broadcasting.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the field of media and communications was signed on May 28, in Ankara, by H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Prof. Fahrettin Altun, Head of Communications in the Turkish presidency, during the former’s official visit to Trkiye.

Under the MoU, the two countries will encourage and promote cooperation in areas of communications and digital literacy, combating fake news, public diplomacy, and media and broadcasting.

The participants will endeavour to strengthen, promote and develop cooperation in media, communications and broadcasting between the two countries on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefits.

The participants mutually decide that the form of cooperation under the MoU will be carried out through exchange of in
formation and experiences; sharing of best practices and experiences; collaboration on initiatives and projects of mutual benefit and interest; convening meetings, seminars, workshop, trainings and conferences; and promoting the exchange of visits between officials and experts in the areas of media, communications and broadcasting.

The seven-paragraph MoU enters into effect on the date of signing and will remain in effect for a period of three years.

KAAMATAN FESTIVAL, GAWAI DAY SHOWCASE MALAYSIA’S CULTURAL DIVERSITY TO THE WORLD – KING


KUALA LUMPUR, The Kaamatan Festival and Gawai Day, celebrated today and tomorrow, showcase Malaysia’s cultural diversity to the world, says His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.

In a post on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook account today, His Majesty also mentioned that these two celebrations serve as a reminder to be grateful.

“As a sign of gratitude at the end of the harvest season, the King said that it is also a reminder to all Malaysians, regardless of religion and race, to be thankful for the blessings and provisions given, according to their respective practices.

“Sultan Ibrahim also stated that this celebration showcases to the world Malaysia’s multicultural society, each with its unique traditional heritage,” read the post.

The King and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, also wished a happy Kaamatan Festival and Gawai Day to those celebrating.

The Kaamatan Festival, also known as the Harvest Festival, is celebrated in Sabah today, while Gawai Day in Sarawak fal
ls on Saturday. Both celebrations are marked as a sign of gratitude at the end of the harvest season.
