64 STUDENTS APPOINTED AS TVET AMBASSADORS FOR KOLEJ KOMUNITI KOK LANAS


KOTA BHARU, A total of 64 students have been appointed as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Ambassadors to implement pilot projects at Kolej Komuniti Kok Lanas.

The community college’s director, Nik Ahmad Rizal Wan Ismail said the students involved are from Form Four and Five of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kota Bharu, SMK Pangkal Kalong, SMK Mulong and SMK Salor.

He said these students will be tasked with delivering all inputs related to the programmes and specialisations offered under TVET as a study option after completing the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

“The target is for students who are about to complete their studies at the SPM level, which are required for their further studies,” he told reporters after the Closing Ceremony of the TVET Ambassador Programme @ KLCC 2024, at the college here today.

Nik Ahmad Rizal said the continuation of studies at community colleges is easy, requiring only a pass in SPM with one credit, and financial assistance is provided for B40 stu
dents.

“SPM leavers can choose from the main programmes offered, such as Hairdressing Certificate, Beauty and Spa Therapy Certificate, and Creative Multimedia Advertising Certificate with a fee as low as RM200 per semester,” he said.

He said for B40 students, they are also assisted with RM2,400 per semester and can continue to diploma level at polytechnics and then a bachelor’s degree via the Malaysia Technical University Network.
