Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Dith Tina received here yesterday visiting H.E. Dr. Christoph Hoffmann, Member of the German Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development.

On the occasion, H.E. Minister briefed his guest on Cambodia’s agricultural development policy as well as the ministry’s mission and activities, stressing that it has been focusing on establishing commune agricultural coordinators throughout the country to listen to the needs of farmers and help them in a timely manner.

In addition, he said, the ministry has been promoting the formation of agricultural communities to meet the market demand and respond to challenges on production, supply chains and good prices to ensure economic efficiency and sustainability.

H.E. Dith Tina also raised the issue of land cover and land encroachment, which the ministry is paying attention to and has set forth mechanisms to solve the problems. He thus asked the German side to trust Cambodia in this matter.
