BERNAMA PENANG BUREAU PHOTOGRAPHER WINS PENANG GREEN AWARD

GEORGE TOWN, Bernama Penang Bureau photographer Muhammad Zainulariff Ahmad Sarbri secured first place in the Photo Journalism Award category at the Penang Green Awards 2023 here tonight.

Muhammad Zainulariff was selected for his photo article titled ‘Pengutip sisa pepejal’ (Solid Waste Collector) enabling him to bring home an award certificate and a cash prize of RM1,200.

Second place went to The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) photographer Muhammad Mikael Ong Abdullah, while third place was awarded to Lim Beng Tatt from The Star newspaper.

The prizes were presented by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

Muhammad Zainulariff, when interviewed, dedicated the victory to his wife Nur Syazwin Adeeb Mohd Shukri, who is currently three months pregnant with their first child.

Chow stated that themed ‘Symphony of Sustainability,’ the Penang Green Awards 2023, now in its tenth year, is organised by the Penang Green Council (PGC) to recognise individuals and organisations striving towards realising the vision of Penang 2030 to become a Green and Smart State Anchored in a Family-Inspired Nation.
