Cambodia and Lao PDR Satisfied with Close Relations and Cooperation

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) have expressed their satisfaction with the long-lasting ties of friendship, traditional solidarity and close cooperation.
The satisfaction was made during a meeting between Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, and H.E. Phankham Viphavanh, Prime Minister of Lao PDR, in Vientiane, Laos on Sept. 14.
Samdech Heng Samrin told H.E. Phankham Viphavanh of his visit, the purpose of which is to continue strengthening and expanding the relationship and cooperation in all sectors between the two neighbouring countries.
The Cambodian NA president also spoke highly of main achievements of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), government, and people of Lao PDR in national construction and development, and people’s livelihood improvement, as well as in the enhancement of the country’s prestige and role at international arena.
For his part, H.E. Phankham Viphavanh expressed warm welcome to Samdech Heng Samrin’s visit in Laos, which reflects the close bonds between both nations.
The Lao premier mentioned about smooth cooperation between both countries during the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that he and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, have always held bilateral meetings with all means to constantly promote brotherhood cooperation of the two countries.
H.E. Phankham Viphavanh highlighted the attention of the Cambodian and Lao governments to people-to-people connectivity, particularly those living along the common border.
In the same afternoon, Samdech Heng Samrin also paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao PDR.
