Cambodia, China to Boost Exchange of Buddhist Culture

Cambodia and China have agreed to boost cooperation on exchange of Buddhist Culture under the “One Belt One Road” initiative.
The agreement was made in the Belt and Road’s Cambodia-China Buddhist Culture Exchange Conference held on Jan. 10 through a videoconference.
The two countries’ delegations led by Samdech Preah Abhisiri Sugandha Mahasangharajah Dhipati Bour Kry, Great Supreme Patriarch of Dhammayuttikaya of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Venerable Tao Qian, Chief Bishop of Hoyuan Pagoda attended the event.
Cambodian Senior Minister H.E. Ly Thuch, who represented the Royal Government in the meeting, underlined that the conference is important in promoting sustainable development within the region.
He added that Cambodia can benefit from the cooperation through the connection of culture, economics, trades, investment, and infrastructure construction.
For his part, Venerable Tao Qian expressed his deep appreciation of the two countries’ cooperation and was committed to support Cambodia especially with capacity building.
