Cambodia and Germany pledged to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation, said a Cambodian foreign ministry’s press statement.
The pledge was made during a meeting here on Wednesday, between Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and visiting German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the statement said.
During their talks, Hun Sen expressed thanks to Germany, for supporting Cambodia’s socio-economic development, adding that, among the 27 Europe Union countries, Germany is the biggest bilateral trading partner of Cambodia, the statement said.
Steinmeier spoke highly of the progress that Cambodia has achieved over the past 25 years and was impressed with the success of Cambodia’s Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2022.
The two leaders also shared views on various important aspects of the investing environment and potential in Cambodia.
Hun Sen urged German investors to choose Cambodia as their foreign direct investment destination, saying, the kingdom has a favourable new investment law and is a member of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement.
