Cambodia to Boost Trade with Neighbouring Nations

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said the Royal Government will do its best to promote trade with the neighbouring nations, including Vietnam, Thailand and Laos.

The Premier made the commitment at a get-together with more than 2,000 Cambodians living in the U.S. and Canada, in Washington D.C. on May 11 evening (Washington D.C time), on the sidelines of the ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit.

In the first fourth months of this year, he pointed out, Cambodia-Vietnam bilateral trade was valued at US$4.2 billion, while in the whole year 2021 the figure reached US$9.5 billion.

For the Cambodia-Thailand trade exchange, it was registered at some US$11 billion. With Laos, the two-way trade was low, but the Royal Government will put more efforts to boost it.
