Cambodia, UK to Strengthen Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation

Cambodia and the United Kingdom are committed to strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, according to a news release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The commitment was made during the meeting between H.E. Kan Pharidh, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Dominic Williams, British Ambassador to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on May 15.

Both parties discussed the mutual supports for their candidatures for various positions in international organisations, the same source said.

They also exchanged views on the outcome of the fourth round of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Cambodia at the 46th Session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, held recently, it added.

The Secretary of State and the Ambassador also pledged to continue to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the United Kingdom and on the international arena, concluded the press
release.
