Cambodian Campaign to Promote Harmony in Workplaces Receives Broad Support

Phnom Penh – A forthcoming campaign titled “An Enterprise is a Peaceful Community,” set to launch in 2024, has garnered support from social analysts and workers’ unions in Cambodia. The campaign aims to foster a harmonious work environment for employers and employees.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Social analyst Dr. Yong Pov emphasized the campaign’s potential in harmonizing professional relations and providing workers with additional training to adapt to evolving job requirements.

Mr. Fa Saly, President of the National Trade Union Confederation, welcomed the initiative, noting its potential to create more inclusive opportunities for vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and pregnant workers.

Mr. Kong Atith, President of the Coalition of Cambodian Apparel Workers Democratic Union (CCAWDU), expressed optimism that the campaign would lead to industrial peace. However, he stressed the necessity of strong collaboration among workers, employers, and the government for its success.

H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, affirmed that the campaign is a governmental priority. It aims to strengthen a conflict-free and friendly working environment, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving labor relations in Cambodia.
