Cambodian, Lao National Assemblies Strengthen Relations, Cooperation

National Assemblies of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) have vowed to further strengthen their relations and cooperation for the mutual interest of the two nations and peoples.
At their bilateral meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR yesterday, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia and his Lao counterpart H.E. Saysomphone Phomvihanh highly valued the sound friendship and cooperation between the two National Assemblies over the past year, according to Lao News Agency KPL.
Both sides agreed to continue to exchange delegations at all levels, exchange information on the performance of their legislative bodies, and support each other in regional and international stage, it added.
A high-level delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly led by Samdech Heng Samrin arrived in Vientiane on Sept. 14 for a three-day official and friendly visit, at the invitation of his Lao counterpart Saysomphone Phomvihanh, after concluding his visit in Vietnam.
Scheduled for Sept. 14-16, the visit aims to strengthen the longstanding relations and cooperation between the two National Assemblies.
