The CAMSOC president Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence voiced the reminder while inspecting the progress of Morodok Techo National Stadium’s sports village construction here in Phnom Penh early this week.

The sports village will be a well-designed building with 1,700 rooms (each room is equipped with between 1 to 5 beds) capable to accommodate from 6,000 to 7,000 athletes once ready.

So far 1,700 beds were equipped, another 2,000 beds will be installed later this month, and about 6,000 of beds in total will be ready by the end of Mar.

Phnom Penh will provide accommodation for 4,000 to 5,000 athletes per day, according to the deputy prime minister.

The sports village covers around eight hectares of land surface behind Morodok Techo National Stadium.

It will also serve as a museum for SEA Games related memories and materials to pass on to the next generations and for study and research purposes.
