CCCC, IPAC Sign MoU to Promote Legal Protection in Cambodia

The Cambodian Counter Counterfeit Committee (CCCC) and the Intellectual Property Association of Cambodia (IPAC) have entered an agreement to foster the promotion, education and legal protection provision on intellectual property in Cambodia.

The signing ceremony of the cooperative agreement took place here in Phnom Penh on Feb. 21.

Ms. Seng Vuchhun, IPAC President, spoke highly of the cooperation, stressing that CCCC is a key stakeholders of IPAC and both entities need mutual support to complete the work effectively.

From his end, H.E. Lt. Gen. Meach Sophanna, President of CCCC, also underlined the significance of the agreement.

It does not only beef up the legal protection cooperation, but also promotes experience and knowledge sharing on legal tools related to intellectual property and anti-counterfeit products between the two bodies and with other partners, he said.

The Royal Government of Cambodia is working hard to fight against the counterfeit products and the abuse of intellectual property, continued H.E. Lt. Gen. Meach Sophanna.

The committee has destroyed and cracked down over 1,000 tonnes of counterfeit products.
