The Coordinating Committee for Informal Economy Development convened at the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) here on Sept. 19 a meeting to finalise the draft sub-decree aimed at registering the informal economy into a new Voluntary digital platform.

Chaired by H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of MISTI, the meeting brought together representatives from various ministries-institutions, including the private sector and business associations to refine the draft sub-decree, said MISTI in a news release this evening.

This discussion focused on digitally onboarding informal workers and micro-enterprises, facilitating their identification and recognition, it pointed out.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has endorsed the development of a new digital platform designed to support the Voluntary Digital of informal economy participants, said the source, adding that the platform will enable these actors to gain recognition and ultimately enhance their economic contributions.

Additionally, it
continued, the Coordinating Committee has been tasked with developing a sub-decree on onboarding of informal economy and organising a national onboarding campaign.
