COVID-19: Daily Cases Continue to Drop

Cambodia’s daily infections of COVID-19 continue to drop with the detection of only 455 new cases this morning; the tally thus stood at 83,839.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, among the new infections, 81 were imported, and the rest were locally transmitted cases linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event.
Meanwhile, 677 new recoveries, but 20 new deaths were recorded; bringing the total recovered cases and death toll in the Kingdom to 78,431 and 1,634, respectively.
The first COVID-19 case was reported in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
