Flash Floods Expected in Northern Provinces

Eight of the 24 provinces in Cambodia are likely to be at high risk of flash floods and overflow due to possible heavy rainfall across the country until the end of September.
The alert was made by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) in a recent announcement.
The affected provinces would be Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Rattanakiri, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Pailin, Battambang, Pursat, it pointed out.
In another announcement on weather forecast made public this morning, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, the temperature would vary between 22 to 32 degrees Celsius in the central low land areas, and from 21 to 31 for highland areas.
For the coastal areas, it pointed out, the temperature would range between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius.
MOWRAM thus called on local authorities and the public to continue their vigilance against thunder, lightning, gusts and high waves.
