His Majesty the King Sends Condolence Message to Chinese President over Torrential Rains in Henan Province

His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has sent a condolence message to H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China over the loss of lives due to heavy floods caused by torrential rains.
The full royal message dated July 22 reads as follows:
“I was distressed to learn of the loss of lives and that tens of thousands of people have been evacuated to shelters, caused by torrential rains which battered central China’s Zhengzhou City and more than a dozen of cities in Henan province.
In this hour of national grief and sorrow, Her Majesty Queen Mother NORODOM MONINEATH SIHANOUK, the Royal Family and the people of Cambodia join me to convey our most sincere condolences and sympathies to Your Excellency and to the families of the victims.
We are confident that Your Excellency, the Communist Party, the State Council, the People’s Liberation Army and the great and heroic citizens of the People’s Republic of China will be able to overcome this difficult challenge.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Your Excellency, the family members of the victims as well as the people of China.”
According to Chinese News Agency Xinhua, over the past few days, record rainfalls in Henan have caused extensive waterlogging, with approximately 3 million people affected. The death toll from this natural disaster has risen to 25, with seven people missing.
