Minister Speaks Highly of ILO’s Cooperation on Labour and Vocational Training

Minister of Labour and Vocational Training has spoken highly of the good cooperation between Cambodia and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on labour and vocational training.

The minister H.E. Ith Samheng made the appreciation during a meeting with Mr. Graeme Buckley, Director of ILO Country Office for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Thailand here in Phnom Penh on Mar. 29.

H.E. Ith Samheng underlined ILO’s contribution to Cambodia’s labour and vocational training development technically and financially.

Good results of the cooperation projects reflected that the partnership between the ministry and ILO is indispensable, and the two need more cooperation projects to respond to the current socio-economic development in Cambodia, said the minister.

H.E. Ith Samheng supported the ILO’s initiative to establish a project for skills development, especially in reskilling and upskilling under the financial cooperation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the French Development Agency (AFD); and the ILO’s project on safe travel and transport of workers.

Mr. Graeme Buckley expressed his appreciation of the fruitful cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
