Moha Tonsay Techo Senchey from Kampong Cham Crowned the Fastest Boat in 2023

Moha Tonsay Techo Senchey from Kampong Cham province was nammed the fastest boat in 2023, after three days of races on Tonle Sap River in front of the Royal Palace, Phnom Penh.

The announcement was made by H.E. Bou Chum Serey, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Vice Chairman of Boat Racing Technical Committee at the end of the boat races this evening.

The two runners up are Samdech Vibol Panha Baromey Meanchey from Takeo province and Koh Ker Senchey Barom Preah Ang Khmao from Preah Vihear province, he pointed out.

For the most beautiful boats of 2023, he added, the first winner is Chanvongsa Moha Sen Techas from Phnom Penh capital, while Pkar Ram Saksit from Kandal province and Techo Keo Vichey Baromey Chaosen from Pursat province, got the second and third places, respectively.

The three-day boat races were wrapped up with success and joyfulness, under the royal presidency of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, accompanied by Cambodian top leaders, high-ranking officials and foreign ambassadors.

This year, almost 340 boats with over 20,000 rowers from across the country competed in the boat racing, which is one of the main events of the Water Festival being held from Nov. 26 to 28.

Even though official ceremonies ended, entertainment programmes continued until midnight with thousands of cheering spectators.
