NGOs and Associations Need to Submit Financial Statement to Royal Government

All Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and associations need to summit their financial statements to the Royal Government routinely, if not they will be responsible before the law, said Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning.

“The Royal Government will not revoke the point in the NGO law requiring all NGOs and associations to submit their financial statements to the government,” he affirmed while holding a get-together with some 17,000 factory workers at the Camton Industrial Park in Kandal province’s Ponhea Leu district.

“If any NGOs or associations fail to do so, they have to close under our law,” the Premier stressed.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen continued that the Royal Government has to know where the financial support come from in order to assure Cambodia’s stability and prevent terrorism.

“We are afraid that some NGOs or associations receive funds from terrorist networks. It can make Cambodia in trouble as now the geopolitical situation requires us to be more careful,” he underlined.

As of December 2022, Cambodia has a total of 6,109 associations and NGOs.
