Over 13 Million People Travel Across Cambodia on First Three Days of Khmer New Year Celebration

Cambodia registered some 13.35 million holiday makers on the first three days of Khmer Traditional New Year Festival, from April 13 to 15, according to a report released today.

Almost 13.28 million of them are national tourists and 81,745 are foreigners, it pointed out.

Kampong Cham province recorded the highest number of tourists with over 3.4 million local and foreign visitors, followed by Kampong Speu province with more than 1.2 million, and Battambang province with nearly 1.1 million.

Preah Sihanouk coastal province attracted most of the international tourists with 14,769, while Pailin northwestern province and Siem Reap cultural province received 14,387 and 12,991, respectively.

Cambodian people are celebrating their traditional New Year, the Year of Dragon, from April 13 to 16.
