Over 210,000 Domestic Tourists Registered during Fourth Weekend of July

A total of 213,590 tourists – 192,050 national visitors and 21,540 internal foreign visitors – toured Cambodia in the fourth weekend of July.

The figure suggested a decline of about 5.67 percent compared to the previous weekend, according to a report of the Ministry of Tourism, explaining that the decrease is due mainly to the unfavorable weather conditions.

The most visited tourist destination was Preah Sihanouk province, followed by the provinces of Kampot, Siem Reap and Battambang, and Phnom Penh capital. Kandal, Kep, and Pursat provinces were also among the top 8 most popular tourist destinations.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Provincial and Municipal Tourism Departments continued to enforce the implementation of safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) introduced by the ministry to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19.
