PM Encourages Athletes to Keep Training

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen reminded this morning to all national athletes to keep enhancing their capacity and talents for the SEA Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia.
Addressing to the government’s award ceremony for Cambodian national petanque athlete Ms. Ouk Sreymom, a gold medalist of the World Petanque Championships 2021, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penhthis morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reiterated that sports do not depend on the size of the country or the number of population, but on capacity, training, and talents.
The Premier encouraged the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia to identify more potential sports such as petanque.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated and expressed his pride that Cambodian petanque athletes had earned gold medals at world championships for five consecutive generations.
According to H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, for petanque, Cambodia has so far won 370 medals, including over 100 gold medals, from international competitions.
