PM Encourages More Community-based Tourism

Cambodia’s Prime Minister has urged authorities and citizens to continue promoting community-based tourism.
The Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen made the point in an inauguration ceremony of the phase IV of Phnom Penh flood protection and drainage improvement project here in Phnom Penh on April 20.
Community-based tourism benefits local communities, forest as well as natural resources conservation in a sustainable way, said Samdech Techo Prime Minister.
Promoting community-based tourism also means encouraging the people to love and actively engage in environmental promotion, he added.
He also spoke highly of concerned authorities in introducing such community-based tourism initiatives, especially Battambang province that stood as the most visited destination during the recent Khmer New Year holiday.
