Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sought Japan’s continued assistance to the training of Cambodia Judo athletes.

The Premier made the request while receiving a courtesy call from H.E. Gotaro Ogawa, President of the Cambodian Judo Support Team and former Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Personal Assistant to Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister thanked H.E. Gotaro Ogawa and Japanese coaches and people for their support and training of Cambodian athletes until they earned medals, which had never been happened before. Anyway, he added, the Cambodian mission does not end with the SEA Games as the Cambodian athletes will participate in many other competitions.

On the other hand, sports bring good health and constitute a bridge between people and people, especially between youth and youth, he said.

For his part, H.E. Gotaro Ogawa expressed his congratulations to Cambodia on the successful hosting of the 32nd SEA Games. He also spoke highly of the Cambodian athletes’ hard-working when they trained in Japan, which was impressed and appreciated by their coaches.

H.E. Gotaro Ogawa stressed that Cambodian athletes are very potential and talented in the field of judo. In this regard, he pledged to continue to help train the Cambodian Judo athletes.
