Preah Sihanouk Province, the Most Attractive Destination for Domestic Visitors Last Weekend

Preah Sihanouk coastal province was the most visited destination, attracting 37,110 domestic tourists last weekend, from Mar. 12 to 13, said H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism.
Pursat province and Phnom Penh capital came in second and third with 28,724 and 28,419 visitors, respectively, he added.
The provinces of Siem Reap, Battambang, Kampot, Kampong Speu and Kep were among the eight most attractive destinations last weekend, he pointed out.
According to H.E. Minister, a total of 253,876 domestic tourists were registered over the weekend, up about 27.30 percent compared to the previous weekend. Of the visitors, 242,188 were national tourists and 11,688 were foreign tourists.
The current tourism situation in Cambodia is similar to that before the Omicron outbreak in February this year, he underlined, expressing his conviction that the good trend will boost the tourist movement during the Khmer Traditional New Year in April.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Provincial and Municipal Tourism Departments continued to enforce the implementation of safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) introduced by the ministry to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19.
