SEDA MALAYSIA, JAKEL GROUP BRING CHEER TO ORPHANS THROUGH ‘SHOPPING RAYA’ PROGRAMME

KUALA LUMPUR, In the spirit of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, together with the Jakel Group, brought cheer to 30 orphans and underprivileged children from Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheerah through a ‘Shopping Raya’ programme at Jakel Mall here, yesterday.

SEDA announced in a statement today that a total of RM14,800 was donated in the programme for the purchase of festive attire for the children aged one to 17 from Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheerah, in addition to contributions in the form of goodies and ‘duit raya’.

The statement noted that the activity was part of SEDA Malaysia’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme called “Tautan Kasih SEDA Malaysia,” which has been conducted since 2021 with selected orphanages and asnaf (tithe recipients).

SEDA Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Hamzah Hussin said the ‘Shopping Raya’ programme aims to alleviate the burden of the less fortunate while sharing the joy of Aidilfitri.

“We hope it
brings joy to the children of Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheerah and further enlivens the practice of charity during the month of Ramadan,” he said.

SEDA added that Jakel Group also made contributions and ‘duit raya’ to the children of Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheerah, which were presented by Jakel Group managing director, Datuk Seri Mohamed Faroz Mohamed Jakel, during the programme.
