Sultan of Selangor and Tengku Permaisuri Attend State Banquet in Kuching

KUCHING – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, graced a state banquet at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly tonight (Nov 6). This event is part of their four-day official visit to Sarawak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the royal couple was joined by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. The banquet was attended by several notable figures, including Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang. Also present were Sarawak deputy premiers Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, along with various ministers and deputy ministers.

Earlier in their visit, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin toured several key sites. These included the Sarawak branch of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, Fort Magherita, and Juma’ani Pavilion. This visit marks the royal couple’s first official trip to Kuching during their tenure.

Their four-day visit, which commenced on Saturday (Nov 4), is scheduled to conclude with their return to Selangor. Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin are expected to depart from Kuching International Airport on a special flight at 11.30 am tomorrow.
