Tekek Health Clinic in Pulau Tioman Records First Birth at Upgraded Maternity Centre

KUANTAN — The Tekek Health Clinic Maternity Centre on Pulau Tioman celebrated a milestone today with the birth of a baby boy, marking the first delivery at the facility since its upgrade last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a 35-year-old woman gave birth to her third child at 7:32 am. The baby weighed 3.2 kilograms. In a statement released today, Dr nor Azimi confirmed that both the mother and child are stable and in good condition, with the birth attended by trained medical staff.

Dr Nor Azimi credited the upgrade of the maternity centre to a RM2.9 million allocation from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, which was used to acquire the latest medical equipment. Expressing gratitude for this significant contribution, Dr nor Azimi also mentioned that the news of the birth was shared with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who has generously agreed to make a donation to the newborn and his family. The donation will be managed by Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) in the baby’s name.

Reiterating the commitment of the Pahang State Health Department, Dr nor Azimi emphasized the continued dedication to providing exemplary services at the Tekek Health Clinic Maternity Centre, particularly for the expectant mothers residing on Pulau Tioman.
