Tourism Ministry Wins Leading International Tourism Marketing Campaign 2022

Cambodian Ministry of Tourism has been awarded as a Leading International Tourism Marketing Campaign 2022 from the Asian Tourism and Hospitality Awards by the Asia Hospitality Human Resource Association (AHHRA) of Malaysia.

The award was presented to the Cambodian ministry in an official event, the first of its kind, organised by AHHRA in collaboration with TIN Media in Malaysia last week.

Mr. Prak Vuthy, Director of Overseas Tourism Marketing and Promotion Department, attributed the honour to the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism led by H.E. Minister Thong Khon as well as all team members of high commitment and responsibility.

It was part of the success of the phase-2 rollout of the Roadmap for Recovery of Cambodia Tourism During and Post COVID-19 that includes human resource rehabilitation, assistance to tourism businesses and services, and promotion of the sector regionally and internationally, he added.

In 2022, the ministry opened for Familiarisation Trip delegations from India, South Korea, and China; and facilitated direct tours with the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

It also launched marketing campaign among foreign embassies, consulates, and other representative offices overseas; engaged in range of tourism exhibitions and promotional events both virtually and physically; and utilised digital platform to promote Cambodia’s tourism, he continued.

The Asian Tourism and Hospitality Awards were rated through online voting by over 47,500 people, and received more than 200 nominations from 23 countries across the world.
