Traffic Accidents Drop by 13% during First Four Months

During the first four months of this year, there were 1,011 cases of road accidents, a decline of 13 percent compared to the same period last year, according to Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The accidents claimed 502 lives and injured 1,363 others, a year-on-year decrease of 13 percent and 26 percent, respectively, the same source pointed out.

Excessive speeding, disrespect of the priority rights, drink driving, not wearing helmet, overtaking and turning in dangerous situation are among the major causes of road accidents in Cambodia.
