Two Major Events Planned Before SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia

Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC) is planning to organise two main event toward the SEA Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia.

The information was shared by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and CAMSOC, at a press conference held here at Morodok Techo National Stadium this morning.

According to the secretary general, the two major events will be the 100-days countdown in late December 2022 and the flame ignition ceremony for the 32nd SEA Games in January-February 2023.

The flame ignition ceremony will take place at Angkor in Siem Reap province under the royal presidency of His Majesty the King, he said, adding that the lit torch will travel to the SEA Games member countries before arriving Phnom Penh capital, the final stop, for the opening ceremony of the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023.

May 5, 2022 marked one year towards the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia.

The 32nd SEA Games is scheduled to be held from May 5 to 17, 2023; and ASEAN Para Games 2023 will start following the SEA Games finishes from June 1 to 10, 2023. About 7,000 athletes, coaches and technical sport officers and some 3,000 international guests are expected to join this regional sporting event.
