US$30 Million Water Supply System Expansion Contract in Takhmao Signed

Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) and KKKCT Consortium on Monday signed a contract for the expansion of water supply system in Takhmao town, Kandal province under a Japanese Grant Aid.
Under the contract, the expansion project of Takhmao Water Treatment Plant will begin in June 2022 and is expected to complete in December 2024.
According to H.E. Long Naro, Director General of PPWSA, the project will be funded by grant aid of US$30 million from Japan.
The PPWSA will add an additional US$10 million to expand the water supply and distribution network.
The Takhmao Water Supply Expansion Project has a capacity of producing 30,000 cubic metres per day to meet the water demand in the south and west of Phnom Penh capital and Takhmao town.
