16th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime and Related Meetings to Take Place This Week

Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior is going to host the 16th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime and Related Meetings on Sept. 21-22, 2022 via Videoconference.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Interior, Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior will chair the forthcoming meetings.
The 16th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime is a forum for ASEAN ministers to exchange views and share updates on regional and global transnational crime trends, especially on the 10 types of crime defined within the ASEAN cooperation framework such as arms smuggling, terrorism, money laundering, piracy, human smuggling and trafficking, international economic crimes, cybercrimes, illicit drug trafficking, and illegal wildlife and timber trade, it pointed out.
Moreover, the same source added, the meeting will discuss the work programme and action plan that have been set out in the past to define direction for further implementation.
Besides, there will be the 12th ASEAN Plus Three (China, Japan, Republic of Korea) Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (12 AMMTC + 3) Consultation.
