The Speaker of Parliament, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, received today, Thursday, the US Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller.
A statement by Al-Halbousi’s office said that during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and the continuation of strengthening security and economic cooperation between the two countries and joint work to confront the challenges of terrorism.
The meeting discussed the importance of continuing the strategic dialogue between the two countries, leading to a strategic partnership in various fields that serves common interests and contributes to supporting Iraq to achieve development and stability.
The meeting also discussed regional and international developments, and a number of issues of common interest.
