Cambodia Committed to End Nutrition Problems by 2030

Cambodia is committed to end problems of nutrition in all forms by 2030 to sustain peace, human capital development and economic growth.
The commitment was made by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Yim Chhayly, Chairman of the Council for Agricultural and Rural Development in a video clip recorded for the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021 held on Dec. 7-8.
Cambodia continues to work hard to transform its food system by providing equitable healthy diet, empowering women, adults, the vulnerable and indigenous people, restoring eco-system and upgrading food management system, he said.
Cambodia will also support the national policies and the first 1,000 days of life intervention in promoting breast and complimentary feeding, prevention and treatment of wasted and stunted children and in-school food supply.
Multi-sectoral and multilateral approaches are a core mechanism to help Cambodia end the problems of nutrition, he said, adding that Cambodia will continue its cooperation with organisations, development partners and countries to address the issues.
