Cambodia, France Cooperate on Archaeological Study Promotion

Cambodia’s Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA) and University of Toulouse of the Republic of France (Université de Toulouse-Jean Jaurès) will further promote archaeological study in Cambodia.
The commitment was made in a meeting between H.E. Dr. Heng Sophady, RUFA’s Rector and Mrs. Nelly Pousthomis-Dalle, Professor in History of Medieval Art and Archaeology, of the University of Toulouse here in Phnom Penh on April 13.
Prof. Nelly Pousthomis-Dalle concluded her mission to lead an internship of archaeological students to Battambang province from March 20 to April 8 and spoke highly of the students’ hard study and performance.
She also asked RUFA to consider promoting the study of new technical and practical areas on architectural plan and construction of ancient temple so that the students can lead the conservation work of the temple in the future.
According to Prof. Nelly Pousthomis-Dalle, two outstanding Cambodian students who conducted internship in Battambang province will leave for their one-month internship in France in July.
H.E. Dr. Heng Sophady supported the inputs from Prof. Nelly Pousthomis-Dalle and thanked her for the internship programme in Battambang province and for the internship opportunity for Cambodian archaeological students in France.
