Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, extended his new year greetings and best wishes to H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President, and H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister, of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on the occasion of the 2022 Lunar New Year, via separate telephone calls made on Jan. 29.
According to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this afternoon, during the calls Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen offered his earnest congratulations for the great achievements recently recorded by the government and people of Viet Nam, especially the major results in implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress as well as in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic while sustaining socio-economic development in the “new normal” life.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his conviction that under the clear-sighted leadership of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the fraternal people of Viet Nam will continue to score greater achievements in the process of defence, building and reform the country.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, after expressing delight and appreciation for Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s warm regards and kind wishes, congratulated Cambodia for the significant achievements, especially the effective response against COVID-19 thus creating preconditions for the full reopening of the economy. The two Vietnamese leaders expressed confidence that under the wise reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate and the National Assembly, the effective management of the Royal Government, the country and people of Cambodia will continue to achieve greater accomplishments in the nation’s construction and development, including the successful organisation of the communal election in 2022 and the general election in 2023, as well as the fruitful chairmanship of ASEAN 2022.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Samdech Techo Hun Sen shared the common views that the two countries needed to work closely together to further enhance the effective use of the existing bilateral mechanisms; prioritise the implementation of the signed agreements; enhance economic connectivity to foster shared development; promote close coordination and mutual support at regional and international fora.
