JBPM Prepares Rapid Action Teams for Monsoon Floods in Malaysia

Alor Setar – The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has announced the establishment of the Northeast Monsoon Rapid Action Team in anticipation of potential major flood disasters nationwide.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JBPM’s director-general, the teams are strategically positioned in various zones and are equipped with special assets for immediate mobilization in response to flooding incidents. Teams are stationed at key locations including Wakaf Tapai in Terengganu for the East Coast Zone, Kluang in Johor for the Southern Zone, Bertam in Penang for the Northern Zone, and Miri in Sarawak for the Borneo Zone.
