PM Holds a Get-together with Cambodian Sports Delegation for SEA Games 2022 in Vietnam

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen held here this morning at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre a get-together with 560 delegates and athletes for the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam.
Speaking on the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recommended the athletes to enhance the national honour and dignity by sticking to fair play and avoiding the use of banned substances, and to take good care of their health.
According to H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), of the total number, 363 are athletes (126 female), and the rest includes 45 leaders and sport officials, 93 coaches and assistants, 21 doctors, 16 arbitrators, 22 team leaders.
Cambodia will compete in 33 kinds of sports : athletics, swimming, gymnastics, shooting, taekwondo WT, cycling, fencing, judo, wushu, wrestling, international boxing, karate, dancing, triathlon, jujitsu, weightlifting, canoe/kayak, football, volleyball (on board and beach), basketball, sepak takraw, table tennis, badminton, tennis, golf, vovinam, Khmer boxing, kickboxing, petanque, bodybuilding, billiard/snooker, e-sport, and Chinese chess, he pointed out.
The 31st SEA Games in Vietnam will be a vital opportunity for the Cambodian national athletes to strengthen and assess their capacity as well as for the sports officials and CAMSOC experts to draw experience on the organisation of this regional sports event for the success of the 32nd SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia, H.E. Thong Khon underlined.
The 31st SEA Games 2022 will take place from May 12 to 23 with 40 types of sports and 526 sports events with the participation of 7,115 athletes from Brunei, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Timor-Leste and the host country, Vietnam.
