Senate President Supports Cambodia-Cuban Executive and Legislative Cooperation

Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Cambodian Senate, has lauded and voiced his support for the good relations and cooperation between Cambodian and Cuban executive and legislative bodies.
While receiving a courtesy call from visiting H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba at the Senate Palace this morning, Samdech Say Chhum encouraged the governments of the two countries to continue strengthening their cooperation through existing mechanisms and full implementation of the already-signed memorandums of understanding and agreements.
The senate president also highly valued the exchange of visit and meetings between both parliaments’ leaders and members and mutual support in the inter-parliamentary framework. He wished to increase the cooperation between the Senate of Cambodia and the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba.
For his part, H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz thanked Cambodia for the donation in rice, and told Samdech Say Chhum of his visit to Cambodia, the purpose of which is to deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially to link their economic and trade ties.
The Cuban Premier thus pledged to do his best to foster the relations and cooperation between the two nations.
H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz arrived in Phnom Penh on Oct. 4 for a three-day official visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Cuba established their diplomatic ties in 1960.
