Cambodia and Singapore have spoken highly of their cooperation both in bilateral and ASEAN frameworks and of mutual support in regional and international arenas.
The remarks were made by H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and H.E Ms. Teo Lay Cheng, newly appointed Ambassador of Singapore to Cambodia, during their courtesy call at the ministry office early this week.
H.E. Cham Prasidh thanked Singapore for the technical assistance and human resource training of both Cambodian officials and students locally and overseas.
He also requested Singapore through H.E. Ms. Teo Lay Cheng to continue strengthening Cambodian human resources’ capacity building, mainly in English language.
For her part, H.E. Ms. Teo Lay Cheng pledged to do her best to further boost the relations and cooperation between both countries, focusing on developing human resources, strengthening SMEs, attracting investments and cooperation in the fields of science, technology and innovation as well as traditional handicraft sector.
Both sides highly valued the progress in cooperation in intellectual property rights, mainly the MoU on Singapore patent recognition in Cambodia, which leads to other MoUs with Korea, China, Japan, EU, and the U.S., a key tool to give more trust and attract new investment.
