Cambodia to Host 1st Open Para Bowling Championships 2024


Cambodia will host the 1st Cambodia Open Para Bowling Championships 2024 from June 21 to 27, 2024.

The event will take place at Probowl Sports Academy, Khalandale Mall, Phnom Penh, with the expected participation of 100 para-athletes from South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries.

Mr. Leon Lim, Vice President of the Cambodia Bowling Federation and Coach of Bowling, told AKP early this week that a total of 20 Cambodian para-athletes are being trained for two months.

Ten outstanding athletes, including five women, will be selected among the trainees for the forthcoming tournament, said the federation’s vice president.

The event aims to exchange experience among the participating para athletes from the participating countries and to sharpen the capacity of Cambodian athletes for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games 2025 in Thailand.

He was committed to training Cambodian athletes hard so that they could win medals for Cambodia.

According to Mr. Leon Lim, this is th
e first time that Cambodia will host the Cambodia Open Para Bowling Championships 2024, and the country also plans to organise the 1st Cambodia International Open 2024 in July.
