Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has urged the Ministry of Health to promote the legal human organ transplantation in Cambodia.
Addressing to the inauguration ceremony of Cambodia-China Friendship Medical Building located in the Cambodia-China Friendship Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodian medical practitioners have enough capacity to provide organ transplant surgery service for people.
The Premier also encouraged the Ministry of Health to promote this medical service to the public in order to reduce the costs from travelling abroad for this service.
“Our medical doctors have been able to provide organ transplantation service such as kidney, liver… since 10 years ago, therefore the Ministry of Health has to promote it,” he said.
At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen advised all medical practitioners to fully respect the code of medical ethics.
