COVID-19 Transmission in Cambodia Slowing Down

The daily cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia keeps falling, despite in a slow pace, with the detection of 486 new infections this morning; bringing the tally to 83,384.
The Ministry of Health’s press release pointed out that among the new cases, 119 were imported, and the rest were locally transmitted cases linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event.
At the same time, the ministry registered 717 new recoveries, but 12 new deaths. The total recovered cases and death toll in the Kingdom thus jumped to 77,754 and 1,614, respectively.
The first COVID-19 case was reported in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
