Cambodia this year registered some 3,827 construction projects with a total area of nearly 6.6 square metres and an estimated investment capital of about US$2.63 billion.

The figures show a decrease of 2.5 percent in terms of the number of investment projects, but almost 50 percent in terms of investment capital, said H.E. Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction at the closing ceremony of the ministry’s annual meeting held here this afternoon under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

Some 128 of the total projects, equal to 142 buildings, are of 5 floors and above, of which 93 buildings are in Phnom Penh capital, 16 in Preah Sihanouk province, and 15 in Banteay Meanchey province, he pointed out.

Among the 142 buildings, he added, 99 are from 5 to 9 floors, 24 from 10 to 19 floors, 13 from 20 to 29 floors, and 6 from 30 to 39 floors.

H.E. Deputy Prime Minister further stated that for residential and Borey projects, there are 510 projects.
