Another Round of Cash Subsidies for Suspended Employees Notified

AKP Phnom Penh, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has notified the release of cash subsidies for workers/employees whose employment contracts have been suspended in garment and tourism as part of government response package for the fallouts of COVID-19.

 

The notification was issued in a letter dated on July 15, stressing that 3,180 workers/employees from 32 factories and companies in the mentioned sectors are entitled for the 63th release of the cash subsidies.

 

The workers/employees suspended from jobs from 7 to 10 days will receive 60,750 Riel (about US$15), from 11 to 20 days 121,500 Riel (US$30), and from 21 to one month 162,000 Riel (US$40).

 

Mobile banking service provider Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank has been contracted to handle the payment.

 

A short message will be sent to respective mobile phone of the eligible recipients of the subsidies, and they are encouraged to cash out the payment within ten days after receiving the notice.
